ഇന്ദിരാഗാന്ധി ഓപ്പൺയൂനിവേഴ്സിറ്റി (ഇഗ്നോ)യുടെയും മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധി സർവകലാശാലയുടെയും മുൻ വൈസ് ചാൻസലറാണ് വി.എൻ. രാജശേഖരൻ പിള്ള. ഇഗ്നോയുടെ റീജനൽ സെൻററും ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യൻ കാമ്പസും തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് ആരംഭിച്ചത് ഡോ. രാജശേഖരൻ പിള്ളയുടെ കാലത്താണ്. സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ എട്ടോളം ശാസ്ത്രഗവേഷക സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നൽകുന്ന സംസ്ഥാന ശാസ്ത്രസാങ്കേതിക പരിസ്ഥിതി കൗൺസിലിന്റെ എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് വൈസ് ചെയർമാൻ ആയിരുന്നു.
