ലെന ലെവിൻ
ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ സൈക്യാട്രിസ്റ്റും ഗൈനക്കോളജിസ്റ്റുമായിരുന്നു ലെന ("ലീ") ലെവിൻ (മേയ് 17, 1903 - ജനുവരി 9, 1965) . വിവാഹ ആലോചനയുടെയും ജനന നിയന്ത്രണത്തിന്റെയും വികാസത്തിലെ ഒരു മുൻനിര വ്യക്തിയായിരുന്നു അവർ. അവർ മാർഗരറ്റ് സാംഗറിന്റെ അടുത്ത സഹപ്രവർത്തകയായിരുന്നു.[1] മരണസമയത്ത് അവർ ന്യൂയോർക്കിലെ മാർഗരറ്റ് സാംഗർ റിസർച്ച് ബ്യൂറോയുടെ ഡയറക്ടറും ബ്രൂക്ക്ലിൻ ജൂത ആശുപത്രിയിലെ ശുചിത്വ ക്ലിനിക്കിൽ കൺസൾട്ടിംഗ് ഗൈനക്കോളജിസ്റ്റുമായിരുന്നു.[1][2]

അവരുടെ രചനകളിലും പ്രഭാഷണങ്ങളിലും പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ച വീക്ഷണങ്ങളിൽ സ്ത്രീകളുടെ ലൈംഗിക ആസ്വാദനത്തിനുള്ള അവകാശം, ജനന നിയന്ത്രണത്തിനുള്ള സൗജന്യ പ്രവേശനം, ലൈംഗിക സങ്കേതങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വ്യക്തമായ ചർച്ച എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. അവരുടെ ഒരു ആശയം "വിവാഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാർഷിക പരിശോധന" എന്നത് ഒരു മെഡിക്കൽ ചെക്കപ്പിനോട് താരതമ്യപ്പെടുത്താവുന്നതായിരുന്നു.[2][3] ലൈംഗിക വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തോടുള്ള അവരുടെ വ്യക്തമായ വാദവും വിവാഹത്തിനു മുമ്പുള്ള ലൈംഗികതയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അവരുടെ പരസ്യമായ പോസിറ്റീവ് വീക്ഷണവും അവളെ ഇന്നും ലൈംഗിക യാഥാസ്ഥിതികരുടെ ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി മാറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു.[4]

ന്യൂയോർക്കിലെ ബ്രൂക്ലിനിൽ ജനിച്ച അവർ ബ്രൂക്ലിനിലെ ബ്രൗൺസ്‌വില്ലെ പരിസരത്താണ് വളർന്നത്. അവരുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കളായ സോഫിയും മോറിസ് എച്ച്. ലെവിനും ലിത്വാനിയയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള റഷ്യൻ ജൂതന്മാരായിരുന്നു. അവർ 1890-കളിൽ അമേരിക്കയിലേക്ക് കുടിയേറി. ഒരു വിജയകരമായ വസ്ത്ര നിർമ്മാതാവായിരുന്നു മോറിസ്.[1][2][5]
