റൂത്ത് റെൻഡൽ

ബ്രിട്ടനിലെ പ്രശസ്ത കുറ്റാന്വേഷണ നോവലിസ്റ്റും എഴുത്തുകാരിയുമാണ് റൂത്ത് റെൻഡൽ.ബാർബറ വൈൻ എന്ന തൂലികാനാമത്തിലും എഴുതിയിരുന്ന റെൻഡൽ പ്രഭുസഭാംഗമായിരുന്നു.60ലേറെ നോവലുകൾ രചിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. റൂത്തിൻെറ നോവലുകളും കഥകളും നിരവധി ടി.വി സീരിയലുകൾക്ക് പ്രമേയമായിട്ടുണ്ട്. 50ലേറെ വർഷം എഴുത്തിൽ സജീവമായിരുന്നു.

1930ൽ സ്വീഡിഷ്-ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ദമ്ബതികളുടെ മകളായി എസെക്സിലാണ് റൂത്ത് ബാർബറ ഗ്രേസ്മന്നിൻെറ ജനനം. എസെക്സ് പത്രത്തിൽ റിപ്പോർട്ടറായായിരുന്നു തുടക്കം. പിന്നീട് പൂർണസമയ എഴുത്തിലേക്ക് തിരിഞ്ഞു. 1953ൽ പത്രപ്രവർത്തകനായ റെൻഡലിനെ വിവാഹംചെയ്തു. ബാർബറ വൈൻ എന്ന പേരിലും നോവലുകൾ എഴുതി.

നോവലുകൾതിരുത്തുക

ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ വെക്സ്ഫോർഡിനെ നായക കഥാപാത്രമാക്കി രചിച്ച നോവലുകൾ കുട്ടികളെയടക്കം ആകർഷിച്ചു. 1964 രചിച്ച ഫ്രം ഡൂൺ വിത്ത് ഡത്തൊണ് വെക്സ്ഫോർഡിനെ നായകനാക്കി ആദ്യം പുറത്തിറങ്ങുന്നത്. രചനകളിൽ സമകാലിക സാമൂഹിക-രാഷ്ട്രീയ വിഷയങ്ങളെ തീവ്രമായി പരാമർശിച്ചു. രചനകൾ 20ലേറെ ഭാഷകളിലേക്ക് മൊഴിമാറ്റിയിട്ടുണ്ട്[1].

ഫ്രം ഡൂൺ വിത്ത് ഡെത്ത്, എ ജഡ്ജ്മെന്റ് ഇൻ സ്റ്റോൺ, ടോക്കിംഗ് ടു സ്ട്രേഞ്ച്മെൻ, ഗോയിംഗ് റോംഗ് തുടങ്ങിയവ പ്രധാനകൃതികളാണ്. ദ റൂത്ത് റെൻഡൽ മിസ്റ്ററീസ് എന്ന ടിവി സീരിയൽ ധാരാളം പ്രേക്ഷകരെ നേടി[2].
