ഇന്ത്യക്കാരനായ ഒരു സർജൻ ആണ് രഘു റാം പില്ലരിസെത്തി OBE. റോയൽ കോളേജ് ഓഫ് സർജൻസ് ഓഫ് എഡിൻബറോയിൽ നിന്നും സ്വർണ്ണമെഡൽ ലഭിച്ച ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞ വ്യക്തിയാണ് രഘുറാം.[25] ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡത്തിലെ സ്തനാരോഗ്യ സംരക്ഷണത്തിനായി സമർപ്പിതവും സമഗ്രവുമായ ആദ്യത്തെ സൗകര്യമായ കിംസ് ഹോസ്പിറ്റൽസിലെ കിംസ്-ഉഷാലക്ഷ്മി സെന്റർ ഫോർ ബ്രെസ്റ്റ് ഡിസീസസിന്റെ സ്ഥാപക-ഡയറക്ടർ ആണ്.[26][27] ലാഭേച്ഛയില്ലാതെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഒരു സംഘടനയായ ഉഷാലക്ഷ്മി സ്തനാർബുദ ഫൗണ്ടേഷന്റെ Archived 2022-05-04 at the Wayback Machine. സ്ഥാപകൻ കൂടിയാണ് അദ്ദേഹം. 2017-ൽ മെഡിക്കൽ കൗൺസിൽ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ 'സോഷ്യോ മെഡിക്കൽ റിലീഫ് രംഗത്തെ മികച്ച സേവനത്തിനുള്ള' ഡോ. ബി.സി റോയ് ദേശീയ അവാർഡിന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു, ഈ പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞവ്യക്തിയാണ് രഘു റാം. [17]

[34] ഈ ബഹുമതി സ്തനാർബുദ പരിപാലനത്തിനും ശസ്ത്രക്രിയാ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനും ഇന്ത്യയിലേക്കും യുകെ / ഇന്ത്യ ബന്ധങ്ങളിലേക്കുമുള്ള അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സേവനങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള അംഗീകാരമായി ലഭിച്ചതാണ്. [35] [36]

ജീവചരിത്രം തിരുത്തുക

രഘു റാം പില്ലരിസെട്ടി 1966 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 22 ന് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ അവിഭക്ത ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശിലെ ഗുണ്ടൂരിൽ മെഡിക്കൽ ഡോക്ടർ മാതാപിതാക്കൾക്ക് ജനിച്ചു, [31] പ്രൊഫ. പിവി ചാലപതി റാവുവും സ്തനാർബുദത്തെ അതിജീവിച്ച ഉഷാലക്ഷ്മി കുമാരിയുമായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കൾ. [25] (എംബിബിഎസ്) സിദ്ധാർത്ഥ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് മെഡിസിൻ ബിരുദം നേടി. 1995 ൽ മംഗലാപുരം കസ്തൂർബ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ നിന്നും ശസ്ത്രക്രിയയിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദം നേടി (എംഎസ്).[37] [38] [39] തുടർന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം യുകെയിൽ പോയി 1997 ൽ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ദ്വീപുകളിലെ നാല് സർജിക്കൽ റോയൽ കോളേജുകളിൽ നിന്നും (എഡിൻബർഗ്, ലണ്ടൻ, ഗ്ലാസ്ഗോ, അയർലൻഡ്) FRCS നേടി. [40] [41] [42] തുടർന്ന് ലണ്ടനിലെ റോയൽ മാർസ്ഡൻ എൻ‌എച്ച്എസ് ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ ട്രസ്റ്റിലും നോട്ടിംഗ്ഹാം ബ്രെസ്റ്റ് ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടിലും ഓങ്കോപ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് സ്തന ശസ്ത്രക്രിയയിൽ ഹയർ സർജിക്കൽ ട്രെയിനിംഗ് & സബ്സ്പെഷ്യാലിറ്റി പരിശീലനം പൂർത്തിയാക്കി. 2002 ൽ അമ്മയ്ക്ക് സ്തനാർബുദം കണ്ടെത്തി. 2007 ൽ ഇന്ത്യയിലേക്ക് താമസം മാറിയ അദ്ദേഹം ഹൈദരാബാദിലെ കിംസ് ഹോസ്പിറ്റലുകളിൽ സ്തനാരോഗ്യ സംരക്ഷണത്തിനായി ഒരു പ്രത്യേക ഉദ്ദേശ്യത്തോടെ നിർമ്മിച്ച സൗകര്യം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. സെന്റർ, കിംസ്-ഉഷാലക്ഷ്മി സെന്റർ ഫോർ സ്തനരോഗങ്ങൾ, ആ സ്ഥാപനം [43] [44] [45] [46] അമ്മയുടെ പേര് (ഉഷാലക്ഷ്മി) വഹിക്കുന്നു. 2012 മുതൽ 2016 വരെ തെക്കേ ഏഷ്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ജനസംഖ്യാടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലുള്ള സ്തനാർബുദ പരിശോധന പദ്ധതി ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യൻ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളായ തെലങ്കാനയിലും ആന്ധ്രയിലും നടപ്പാക്കി. 3000 ത്തിലധികം ആരോഗ്യ പ്രവർത്തകർ നടത്തിയ ക്ലിനിക്കൽ ബ്രെസ്റ്റ് എക്സാമിനേഷൻ (സിബിഇ) വഴി സ്തനാർബുദത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ ലക്ഷണങ്ങൾക്കായി 4000 ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിലായി 200,000 ത്തോളം സ്ത്രീകളെ തെലങ്കാന, ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശ് സർക്കാരുകളുടെ പങ്കാളിത്തത്തോടെ ഉഷാലക്ഷ്മി സ്തനാർബുദ ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചു. സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരിന്റെ ആരോഗ്യശ്രീ പദ്ധതി പ്രകാരം സ്തനാർബുദം കണ്ടെത്തിയ സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് സൗജന്യമായി ചികിത്സ നൽകി. ക്ലിനിക്കൽ സ്തനപരിശോധന (സിബിഇ) ആവർത്തിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള മാർഗ്ഗനിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ തയ്യാറാക്കിയ കേന്ദ്ര ആരോഗ്യ മന്ത്രാലയം രൂപീകരിച്ച സ്റ്റിയറിംഗ് കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെയും ഉയർന്ന ശക്തിയുള്ള സാങ്കേതിക ഉപദേശക ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെയും (ടിഎജി) ) രാജ്യത്തുടനീളമുള്ള സ്തനാർബുദ പരിശോധന പ്രോഗ്രാമിന്റെയും ഭാഗമാകാൻ ഇന്ത്യൻ ഗവന്മെന്റ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ക്ഷണിച്ചു. [38] [67] 2000 മുതൽ 2013 വരെയുള്ള കാലയളവിൽ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ പത്ത് ബിരുദാനന്തര കോഴ്സുകൾ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്, ആർ‌സി‌എസ്‌ഇഡി ഒരു വിദേശ സ്ഥലത്ത് നടത്തിയ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന കോഴ്‌സുകൾ ആണ് ഇത്. 2020-ൽ അസോസിയേഷൻ ഓഫ് സർജൻസ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ (എ.എസ്.ഐ) പ്രസിഡന്റായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞ ശസ്ത്രക്രിയാ വിദഗ്ധരിൽ ഒരാളാണ് അദ്ദേഹം. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ശസ്ത്രക്രിയാ സാഹോദര്യത്തെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്ന ദക്ഷിണേഷ്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയതും ലോകത്തിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ വലിയതുമായ ശസ്ത്രക്രിയാ സ്ഥാപനമാണ് എ‌എസ്‌ഐ. അസോസിയേഷൻ ഓഫ് സർജൻസ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ (2017 - 2018) യ്ക്കായുള്ള ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ അഫയേഴ്സ് കൺവീനർ എന്ന നിലയിൽ, അസോസിയേഷൻ ഓഫ് സർജൻസ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യയും റോയൽ കോളേജ് ഓഫ് സർജൻസ് ഓഫ് ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടും തമ്മിൽ ഒരു പ്രവർത്തന പങ്കാളിത്തത്തിന് അദ്ദേഹം തുടക്കം കുറിച്ചു, അതുവഴി മിടുക്കരായ യുവ ശസ്ത്രക്രിയാ പരിശീലകരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള പ്രക്രിയ സുഗമമാക്കി. റോയൽ കോളേജിന്റെ ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ സർജിക്കൽ ട്രെയിനിംഗ് പ്രോഗ്രാം (ഐ.എസ്.ടി.പി) വഴി യുകെയിലെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ വിപുലമായ സബ് സ്പെഷ്യാലിറ്റി സർജിക്കൽ പരിശീലനം നേടുന്നതിന് ഇന്ത്യ [76] [77] [78] [79] [80]

2013 - 2015 വരെ അസോസിയേഷൻ ഓഫ് സർജൻസ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഗവേണിംഗ് കൗൺസിൽ അംഗമായിരുന്നു. 2009-2012 കാലയളവിൽ വിദേശ കോർഡിനേറ്ററായി സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. [81]

ജനറൽ സർജൻമാർ, സർജിക്കൽ ഗൈനക്കോളജിസ്റ്റുകൾ, സ്തനാർബുദ രോഗികളെ ചികിത്സിക്കുന്ന പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് സർജൻമാർ എന്നിവരെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്ന അസോസിയേഷൻ ഓഫ് ബ്രെസ്റ്റ് സർജൻസ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ (എബിഎസ്ഐ) സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനായി ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ശസ്ത്രക്രിയാ സാഹോദര്യത്തിന്റെ പിന്തുണ നേടുന്നതിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു പ്രധാന പങ്ക് വഹിച്ചു. സ്ഥാപക ഓണററി സെക്രട്ടറി (2011–13), വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് (2013–14), പ്രസിഡന്റായി (2015 - 2017), സംഘടനയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞ വ്യക്തിയായി അദ്ദേഹം സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. [82] [83] [84] പ്രസിഡന്റായിരിക്കെ ഇന്ത്യയിലുടനീളമുള്ള പന്ത്രണ്ട് നഗരങ്ങളിലും പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും 'എ.ബി.എസ്.ഐ പരിശീലന മൊഡ്യൂൾ' ആരംഭിച്ചു. 2016 ൽ ആരംഭിച്ച ഈ പാൻ ഇന്ത്യ പരിശീലന മൊഡ്യൂൾ വിവിധ സ്തന വൈകല്യങ്ങളുള്ള രോഗികളുടെ മാനേജ്മെൻറ് സംബന്ധിച്ച് ട്രെയിനികൾക്കും ശസ്ത്രക്രിയാ വിദഗ്ധർക്കും നിലവാരമുള്ള അധ്യാപനം നൽകുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യം നേടി. [85] [86] [87] [88] 'എബി‌എസ്‌ഐ-യുകെ ഫെലോഷിപ്പ് പ്രോഗ്രാം' നയിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം, യോഗ്യതയിൽ നിന്ന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ശസ്ത്രക്രിയാ പരിശീലകർക്ക് യുകെയിലെ മികച്ച ബ്രെസ്റ്റ് സെന്ററുകളിൽ ഒരു വർഷത്തെ സബ്സ്പെഷ്യാലിറ്റി പരിശീലനം നേടുന്നതിന് അനുവദിക്കുന്നു. 2016 ൽ ആരംഭിച്ച ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള അഞ്ച് ട്രെയിനികൾ യുകെയിൽ പരിശീലനം പൂർത്തിയാക്കി.
