മിറ്റ് റോംനി
ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ വ്യവസായിയും രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രവർത്തകനുമാണു് മിറ്റ് റോംനി[1]. (ജനനം:മാർച്ച് 12 1947) 2012-ലെ അമേരിക്കൻ പ്രസിഡണ്ട് തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിലെ റിപ്പബ്ലിക്കൻ പാർട്ടിയുടെ ഔദ്യോഗിക സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥിയായിരുന്നു . നവംബർ 6 ന് നടന്ന തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ ബറാക്ക് ഒബാമയോട് തോൽവിയേറ്റു. 303 ഇലക് ട്രൽ വോട്ടുകളാണ് ഒബാമ നേടിയത്. റോംനിയ്ക്ക് 206 ഇലക് ട്രൽ വോട്ടുകൾ നേടാനേ കഴിഞ്ഞുള്ളു[2]. 2003 മുതൽ 2007 വരെ മസാച്ചുസെറ്റ്സിന്റെ ഗവണറായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു.

ജോർജ്ജ് ഡ്ബ്ല്യു റോംനിയുടെയും(മിച്ചിഗണിന്റെ ഗവർണർ 1963-69 വരെ) ലെനോർ റോംനിയുടെയും മകനായാണു് റോംനി ജനിച്ചത്. മിച്ചിഗണിലെ ബ്ലൂംഫീൽഡ് ഹിൽസിൽ വളർന്ന മിറ്റ് 1966-ൽ 30 മാസം ഫ്രാൻസിൽ മിഷനറിയായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 1969-ൽ ആൻ ഡേവീസിനെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തു. ഈ ദമ്പതികൾക്ക് അഞ്ചു മക്കളാണുള്ളത്. 1971-ൽ ബ്രിഹാം യംഗ് സർവ്വകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് ബാച്ചലർ ഓഫ് ആർട്ട്സും, 1975-ൽ ഹാർവാർഡ് സർവ്വകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് മാസ്റ്റർ ഓഫ് ബിസിനസ് അഡ്മിനിസ്ട്രേഷനും, ജൂറിസ് ഡോക്റ്റർ ഡിഗ്രിയും നേടുകയും ചെയ്തു.
