മാർക്കോസ്

ഇന്ത്യൻ നാവിക സേനയുടെ പ്രത്യേക പ്രവർത്തന ഘടകമാണ്‌ മാർക്കോസ് (MARCOS). മറൈൻ കമാൻഡോസ് എന്നതിന്റെ ചുരുക്കരൂപമാണ്‌ ഇത്. കരസേനയിലെ കരിമ്പൂച്ചകളുടെ (ബ്ലാക്ക് കാറ്റ്സ്)രീതിയിലുള്ള നാവിക കമാൻഡോസാണ്‌ ഇവർ. 1991 ലാണ് ഈ വിഭാഗം ആദ്യമായി പ്രവർത്തനക്ഷമമായത്. ഇന്ത്യൻ സായുധസേനകളിൽ സിഖുകാരല്ലാത്തവർക്കും താടി വയ്ക്കാൻ അനുവാദം ഉള്ള ഏക സേനാ ഘടകമാണ്‌ ഇത്. അതിനാൽ മാർക്കോസിന്‌ താടിക്കാരുടെ സൈന്യം (Bearded Army) എന്നും പേരുണ്ട്.
