മാതുറിൻ ജാക്വിസ് ബ്രിസ്സൺ
മാതുറിൻ ജാക്വിസ് ബ്രിസ്സൺ (30 ഏപ്രിൽ 1723 – 23 ജൂൺ 1806) ഫ്രെഞ്ച് ജീവശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനും തത്ത്വചിന്തകനും ആയിരുന്നു. ഫോൺടെനെ-ലെ-കോംറ്റെയിലാണ് ജനിച്ചത്. ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തിൽ പ്രകൃതിചരിത്രാന്വേഷണത്തിൽ സമയം ചിലവഴിച്ചെങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹം ആ മേഖലയിൽ ലെ റെഗ്നെ ആനിമൽ(1756),[1] ഓർണിത്തോളജി(1760) എന്നിവ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.[2] അദ്ദേഹം ഗ്രേലാഗ് ഗൂസ് എന്ന ജലപക്ഷിയ്ക്ക് ടിപിക്കൽ സ്പീഷീസായതിനാൽ ജീനസ് നാമം ആൻസർ ആൻസർ എന്ന് നല്കുകയുണ്ടായി.[3]
