Template {{Redirect category shell}} may be used to add one or more rcat templates, along with their parameters and categories, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation page below.

When used by itself:

From a modification: This is a redirect from a modification of the target's title or a closely related title. For example, the words may be rearranged.
- Please note that there are many more specific templates. Please use {{R from alternative spelling}} for spelling changes (including punctuation and spacing); see subcategories of Category:Redirects from modifications for other options (capitals, abbreviations, diacritics, plurals, stylizations, transliteration, ligatures, different parts of speech, etc.). If you are unsure which to use, this template is fine; someone will make it more specific later if necessary.
- In cases of modification from distinctly longer or shorter names, please use {{R from long name}} or {{R from short name}}, respectively. An abbreviation should be tagged with {{R from initialism}} or, if it can be spoken like a word such as NASA and RADAR, use {{R from acronym}}.
- Use this rcat instead of {{R from other capitalisation}} and {{R from plural}} in namespaces other than mainspace for those types of modification. This may also apply to several other subcategories of modification; please check those templates' output before saving if using outside of mainspace.

This redirect category (rcat) template populates വർഗ്ഗം:Redirects from modifications. Add this rcat to a redirect in the following manner:

#REDIRECT [[(target page name)]]

Template {{This is a redirect}} may also be used to add this and up to seven appropriate rcats to a redirect.
Use this rcat on any redirect that is a modification of the target's title; for example, its words are rearranged, or punctuation in the name is changed.
If the redirect is from a title including the numeral form of a number to a title with the worded form, use the template {{R from numerals}} instead. If it is from the worded form to the numeral form, then use {{R to numerals}}.
In cases of modification from distinctly shorter or longer names, please use {{R from short name}} or {{R from long name}}, respectively.
Since {{R from other capitalisation}} is only used in main-article namespace, the R from modification rcat is useful for other capitalisations in other namespaces.

Parameter തിരുത്തുക

The template takes a single optional parameter |1= (a.k.a. "reason"), that changes the phrase "the target's title", after "This is a redirect from a modification of", to something else. This is needed if the redirect is from a modification of some term other than the target title, e.g. an alternative name or subtopic. For example, the redirect from Direct to digital to Direct-to-video can be tagged as:

#REDIRECT [[Direct-to-video#Digital releases]]

{{R from alternative hyphenation|1=the {{-r|Direct-to-digital}} redirect}}

where {{R from alternative hyphenation}} is an alias of {{R from modification}}. This will make the template read:

"This is a redirect from a modification of the Direct-to-digital redirect;..."

Printworthiness തിരുത്തുക

In main-article namespace, many redirects from modified page titles are considered unprintworthy; however, there are many others that are thought to be printworthy, so there is no default sort for printworthiness. At some point in the future, Jimmy Wales wants to make more printed versions of Wikipedia encyclopedia articles. Some rcats automatically populate either വർഗ്ഗം:Printworthy redirects or വർഗ്ഗം:Unprintworthy redirects by default. Others, like this rcat, do not, and that means it is up to editors to choose which of those categories, Printworthy or Unprintworthy, is appropriate and should be populated. The rcats that are used separately to populate those categories are:
