പ്രിസില സൂസൻ ബറി
ഇംഗ്ലീഷുകാരിയായ ഒരു സസ്യശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞയും ചിത്രകാരിയുമായിരുന്നു പ്രിസില സൂസൻ ബറി (Priscilla Susan Bury), ജനനം ഫോക്‌നർ Falkner എന്ന പേരിൽ (12 ജനുവരി 1799 ലിവർപൂൾ – 8 മാർച്ച് 1872 ക്രോയ്‌ഡൺ).

ലിവർപൂളിലെ ധനികനായ ഒരു വ്യാപാരിയുടെ മകളായി ജനിച്ച സൂസൻ 18300മാർച്ച് 4-ന് ഒരു റെയിൽവേ എഞ്ചിനീയറായ എഡ്‌വേഡ് ബറിയെ (1794-1858) വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു. വാസനകൊണ്ട് സസ്യകാരനായ വില്ല്യം റോസ്കോയുമൊത്ത് (1753-1831), 1831-1834 കാലത്ത് പ്രിസില A Selection of Hexandrian Plants എന്ന പുസ്തകം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു. പുസ്തകത്തിന്റെ രൂപകൽപ്പന ലണ്ടനിലെ റോബർട്ട് ഹാവെലിനെയാണ് ഏൽപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നത്. ഇദ്ദേഹമായിരുന്നു ജോൺ ജെയിംസ് ഓഡുബോണിന്റെ (1785-1851) രൂപകൽപ്പനയും നടത്തിയിരുന്നത്. അക്വാടിറ്റ്നിൽ പുറാത്തിറക്കിയ പുസ്തകത്തിലെ 350 സസ്യചിത്രങ്ങൾ മിക്കവാറും കൈകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ വരച്ചതായിരുന്നു. ഈ മഹാഗ്രന്ഥം 79 പേർ മാത്രമായിരുന്നു വാങ്ങിയത്. മിക്കവരും ലങ്കാഷെയറിൽ നിന്നുമുള്ളവരും ആയിരുന്നു. അവരിൽ ഒരൾ ഓഡുബോൺ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു.അക്കാലത്തെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച കളർ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ ഉൾക്കൊണ്ടതായിരുന്നു ആ പുസ്തകമെന്ന് വിൽഫ്രെഡ് ജാസ്പർ വാൾട്ടർ ബ്ലണ്ട് തന്റെ The Art of Botanical Illustration എന്ന ഗ്രന്ഥത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്[1]
The Botanist of Benjamin Maund (1790-1863) എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിലെ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ വരച്ചതു പ്രിസിലയായിരുന്നു.[2]
