ഇസ്രായേലിൽ നിന്ന് പലസ്തീനിനെ മോചിപ്പിക്കുക എന്ന ലക്‌ഷ്യത്തിനായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ഇസ്‌ലാമിക സംഘടനയാണ് പലസ്തീൻ ഇസ്ലാമിക് ജിഹാദ്. പലസ്തീൻ ഇസ്‌ലാമിക് ജിഹാദ് മുന്നണി എന്നർത്ഥം വരുന്ന ഹർക്കത്ത് അൽ ജിഹാദ് അൽ ഇസ്ലാമി ഫീ ഫലസ്തീൻ (Arabic: حركة الجهاد الإسلامي في فلسطين‎, Harakat al-Jihād al-Islāmi fi Filastīn) എന്നതാണ് ഈ സംഘടനയുടെ പൂർണ്ണ രൂപം. ഇസ്രയേലികൾക്കെതിരായ സൈനിക നടപടിയായാണ് ജിഹാദിനെ ഈ സംഘം നിർവചിക്കുന്നത്. ഇസ്രയേലിന്റെ അധിനിവേശത്തിൽ നിന്നും പലസ്തീൻ രാജ്യം മോചിപ്പിച്ചു 1948 മുൻപുണ്ടായിരുന്നത് പോലെ സ്വതന്ത്ര രാജ്യമാക്കുക എന്നതാണ് ഈ സംഘടനയുടെ പ്രഖ്യാപിത ലക്ഷ്യം. ഇതേ ലക്ഷ്യത്തിനായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഹമാസ് കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ ഏറ്റവും സ്വാധീനമുള്ള സംഘടന കൂടിയാണിത്. ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ സഖ്യരാജ്യങ്ങളായ അമേരിക്കയും യൂറോപ്യൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളും ഉൾപ്പെടെ പല രാജ്യങ്ങളും അതുകൊണ്ട് ഈ സംഘടനയെ ഭീകരരുടെ പട്ടികയിൽപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. സംഘടനയുടെ സായുധ വിഭാഗമായ അൽ-കുദ്സ് ബ്രിഗേഡുകൾ ഇസ്രായേലിനെതിരെ ചാവേർ ബോംബാക്രമണം ഉൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി ആക്രമണങ്ങളിൽ പങ്കാളികളാണെന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
