ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ എസെക്സിലെ ഒരു കടൽത്തീര റിസോർട്ട് നഗരമായ സൗത്ത്ഹെഡ്-ഓൺ-സീയിൽ 1989 മാർച്ച് 2-ന് ഇമ്മാനുവൽ ജനിച്ചു.[1] ഒരു ഡൊമിനിക്കൻ മാതാവിന്റെയും അർദ്ധ സെന്റ് ലൂഷ്യൻ അർദ്ധ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് പിതാവിന്റെയും രണ്ടാമത്തെ കുഞ്ഞാണ് ഇമ്മാനുവൽ.[2][3] ചെറുപ്പത്തിൽ തന്നെ ഇമ്മാനുവൽ കാലയോടുള്ള തന്റെ അഭിനിവേശം പ്രകടമാക്കി.

2006-ൽ, ഹോളിയോക്‌സ് എന്ന സോപ്പ് ഓപ്പറയിൽ സാഷ വാലന്റൈൻ എന്ന കഥാപാത്രം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. 2010 ൽ,കഥാപാത്രത്തിന്റെ കഥാചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ വേശ്യാവൃത്തിയും ഹെറോയിൻ ആസക്തി എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത് വരെ, പരമ്പരയുടെ ഭാഗമായി ഇമ്മാനുവൽ തുടർന്നു.[4][5][6] 2012 ജനുവരിയിൽ ഇമ്മാനുവൽ ബിബിസി ത്രീയിൽ വെബ്സെക്സ്: വാട്സ് ദ ഹാം? പരിപാടി അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. യു.കെയിലെ 16-24 നുമിടയിൽ വയസ്സുള്ളവരുടെ ഓൺലൈൻ ലൈംഗിക ശീലങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പരിപാടി ആയിരുന്നു ഇത്.[7] അതേ വർഷം തന്നെ ട്രിസെൻ 8 ത്തിലെ ട്വെൻറ്റി8കെ എന്ന ത്രില്ലർ ചിത്രത്തിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചു.[8][9] തുടർന്നുള്ള വർഷം, എച്ച്ബിഒയുടെ ഫാന്റസി പരമ്പര ഗെയിം ഓഫ് ത്രോൺസിൽ ഡനേറിസ് ടാർഗേറിയന്റെ പരിഭാഷകയായ മിസ്സാൻഡെയായി അഭിനയിച്ചു. 

2015 ൽ, ഇമ്മാനുവൽ പരിപാടിയിൽ സ്ഥിരം അംഗമായി ഉയർത്തി.[10] അതേ വർഷം, ആക്ഷൻ ചിത്രം ഫ്യൂറിയസ് 7 ൽ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ ഹാക്കർ റാംസെയെയും[11], സയൻസ് ഫിക്ഷൻ സാഹസിക ചിത്രം മേസ് റണ്ണർ: ദ സ്കോച്ച് ട്രയൽസിൽ ഹാരിയറ്റ് എന്ന കഥാപാത്രത്തെയും അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു.[12][13]
