മാഡം ഡി ഓൾനോയ് എഴുതിയ ഒരു ഫ്രഞ്ച് ഇസാഹിത്യ യക്ഷിക്കഥയാണ് ഗോൾഡൻ ബ്രാഞ്ച്. ആൻഡ്രൂ ലാങ് ഈ കഥ റെഡ് ഫെയറി ബുക്കിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു.

പതിനെട്ടാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ അവസാനത്തെ കഥയുടെ വിവർത്തനത്തിൽ ദി ഗോൾഡൻ ബൊഫ് എന്ന് പേരിട്ടു.[1]
ഡി ഓൾനോയിയുടെ തൂലികയിൽ നിന്ന് ജെയിംസ് പ്ലാഞ്ചെ രചിച്ച സ്റ്റേജിനുവേണ്ടി രചിച്ച കഥകളിൽ ഒന്നായിരുന്നു ഇത്.[2][3][4] തന്റെ ദി ഗോൾഡൻ ബ്രാഞ്ച് എന്ന നാടകത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനമായി അദ്ദേഹം ഈ കഥ ഉപയോഗിച്ചു.[5][6]

ഒരു ക്രൂരനായ രാജാവിന് ഭീകരമായ, എന്നാൽ നല്ല മനസ്സുള്ള ഒരു മകനുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. തന്നെപ്പോലെ വിരൂപയായ ഒരു രാജകുമാരിയെ തന്റെ മകനെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ച് ഒരു വിവാഹബന്ധം ക്രമീകരിക്കാൻ രാജാവ് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു. ക്ഷീണിതനായ രാജകുമാരൻ അവളെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല. രാജാവ് അവനെ ഒരു ഗോപുരത്തിൽ തടവിലാക്കി. അവൻ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നതുവരെ എന്തായാലും തന്റെ സ്ഥാനപതികളെ അയച്ചു. രാജകുമാരി സമ്മതിക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല. പക്ഷേ അവളുടെ പിതാവ് അവളെ രാജ്യപ്രതിനിധികൾക്കൊപ്പം അയച്ചു.
