ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ അഭിഭാഷകനും കൊളറാഡോ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് ബോൾഡർ ലോ സ്കൂളിന്റെ 16-ാമത്തെ ഡീനുമാണ് സ്റ്റീഫൻ ജെയിംസ് അനയ .[1] അദ്ദേഹം മുമ്പ് അരിസോണ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിലെ ജെയിംസ് ഇ റോജേഴ്സ് കോളേജ് ഓഫ് ലോയിലെ ഹ്യൂമൻ റൈറ്റ്സ് ലോ ആൻഡ് പോളിസി പ്രൊഫസറായിരുന്നു.[2] കൂടാതെ അയോവ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് ലോ കോളേജ് ഓഫ് ലോയിൽ പത്ത് വർഷത്തിലധികം ഫാക്കൽറ്റിയിൽ സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 2008 മാർച്ചിൽ, റോഡോൾഫോ സ്റ്റാവൻഹേഗനെ മാറ്റി, തദ്ദേശവാസികളുടെ മനുഷ്യാവകാശങ്ങളുടെയും മൗലിക സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യങ്ങളുടെയും സാഹചര്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രത്യേക റിപ്പോർട്ടറായി ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ നിയമിച്ചു.[3] 2019-ൽ അമേരിക്കൻ ഫിലോസഫിക്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റി അംഗമായി അദ്ദേഹം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു.

ന്യൂ മെക്സിക്കോ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ നിന്നും (ബിഎ, 1980) ഹാർവാർഡ് ലോ സ്കൂളിൽ നിന്നും (ജെ.ഡി., 1983) ബിരുദധാരിയാണ് അനയ. ഹാർവാർഡ് ലോ സ്കൂളിൽ, വിദ്യാർത്ഥി ഉപദേശകരുടെ ബോർഡ് അംഗമായിരുന്നു. അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര മനുഷ്യാവകാശങ്ങൾ, ഭരണഘടനാ നിയമം, തദ്ദേശവാസികളെ സംബന്ധിച്ച വിഷയങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയിൽ അദ്ദേഹം പഠിപ്പിക്കുകയും എഴുതുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.[2]
മനുഷ്യാവകാശങ്ങളുടെയും തദ്ദേശീയരുടെയും കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ നിരവധി രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ ഓർഗനൈസേഷനുകളുടെയും സർക്കാർ ഏജൻസികളുടെയും കൺസൾട്ടന്റായി അനയ സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കൂടാതെ കോടതികൾക്കും അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര സംഘടനകൾക്കും മുമ്പാകെയുള്ള സുപ്രധാന കേസുകളിൽ വടക്കൻ, മധ്യ അമേരിക്കയുടെ പല ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള തദ്ദേശീയ ഗ്രൂപ്പുകളെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ചു. അന്തർ-അമേരിക്കൻ മനുഷ്യാവകാശ കോടതി ആദ്യമായി അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര നിയമപ്രകാരം തദ്ദേശീയ ഭൂമിയുടെ അവകാശം ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിച്ച ആവാസ് ടിംഗ്‌നി വേഴ്സസ് നിക്കരാഗ്വ കേസിൽ തദ്ദേശീയ കക്ഷികളുടെ പ്രധാന അഭിഭാഷകനായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.[4] കൂടാതെ, ബെലീസിലെ സുപ്രീം കോടതി ആ രാജ്യത്തെ മായൻ ജനതയുടെ പരമ്പരാഗത ഭൂമി അവകാശങ്ങൾ സ്ഥിരീകരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു വിധി വിജയകരമായി നേടിയ നിയമ സംഘത്തിന് അദ്ദേഹം നിർദ്ദേശം നൽകി.[5]
2016 ഏപ്രിൽ 13-ന്, കൊളറാഡോ സർവകലാശാലയിലെ ബോൾഡർ പ്രൊവോസ്റ്റ് റസ്സൽ എൽ. മൂർ, റീജന്റ് പ്രൊഫസർ ആന്റ് ജെയിംസ് ജെ. ലെനോയർ പ്രൊഫസർ ഓഫ് ഹ്യൂമൻ റൈറ്റ്സ് ലോ ആൻഡ് പോളിസി അറ്റ് ദി യുണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് അരിസോണയിലെ പ്രൊഫസറായ ജെയിംസ് (ജിം) അനയയെ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് കൊളറാഡോ ബോൾഡർ ലോ സ്കൂൾ ഡീൻ ആയി നിയമിച്ചതായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. 2016 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 8-ന് അനയ തന്റെ ചുമതലകൾ ആരംഭിച്ചു.[1] 2021 ജൂൺ 30 മുതൽ കൊളറാഡോ ലോ സ്കൂളിന്റെ ഡീൻ എന്ന പദവിയിൽ നിന്ന് അനയ പിന്മാറി. അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു വിശിഷ്ട ഫാക്കൽറ്റി അംഗമായി തുടരുന്നു.[6]
