ചണ്ഡിഗഡിലെ ഗവൺമെന്റ് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജ് ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിന്റെ സ്ഥാപക പ്രിൻസിപ്പളും ഇന്ത്യൻ അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് ന്യൂറോളജിയുടെ മുൻ പ്രസിഡന്റും ആയിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. [6]

ന്യൂറോളജി ഇൻ ട്രോപിക്സ് എന്ന പുസ്തകം അദ്ദേഹം രചിച്ചു, [7] ഇത് 146 ന്യൂറോളജിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ സംഭാവനകളുടെ ഒരു സമാഹാരമാണ്.

ജീവിതം തിരുത്തുക

1980 ൽ നാഷണൽ അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ സയൻസസ് ചോപ്രയെ ഫെലോ ആയി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു. ആറ് വർഷത്തിന് ശേഷം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ബിസി റോയ് അവാർഡ് ലഭിച്ചു. [8] [9] ഡോ. ആർ‌എസ് ആലിസൺ ഓറേഷൻ, ഇന്ത്യൻ കൗൺസിൽ ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ റിസർച്ചിന്റെ (ഐസി‌എം‌ആർ) എം‌എസ് സെൻ അവാർഡ് ഓറേഷൻ എന്നിവ പോലുള്ള നിരവധി അവാർഡ് പ്രഭാഷണങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹം നടത്തി. ഇന്ത്യൻ വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രത്തിന് നൽകിയ സംഭാവനകൾക്ക് 2008 ൽ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന മൂന്നാമത്തെ സിവിലിയൻ ബഹുമതിയായ പദ്മഭൂഷൻ ഇന്ത്യൻ സർക്കാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് നൽകി. [10] മദ്രാസ് ന്യൂറോ ട്രസ്റ്റിന്റെ ലൈഫ് ടൈം അച്ചീവ്മെൻറ് അവാർഡും അദ്ദേഹം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. [11]

മരണം തിരുത്തുക

ചണ്ഡിഗഡിൽ ഹൃദയാഘാതത്തെത്തുടർന്ന് ഐസിയു യൂണിറ്റിൽ ഒരു മാസത്തോളം രക്ഷിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചിട്ടും [12] ചോപ്ര 2019 ജനുവരി 19 ന് അന്തരിച്ചു. [13]
