ഗോൾഡൻ ഗേറ്റ്
ഗോൾഡൻ ഗേറ്റ്, സാൻ ഫ്രാൻസിസ്കോ ഉൾക്കടലിനെ പസഫിക് സമുദ്രത്തിലേക്ക് ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും വടക്കേ അമേരിക്കയുടെ പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ തീരത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നതുമായ ഒരു കടലിടുക്കാണ്.[2] സാൻഫ്രാൻസിസ്കോ ഉപദ്വീപിൻറെയും മാരിൻ ഉപദ്വീപിൻറെയും മുനമ്പുകൾക്കിടയിലുള്ള ഭാഗമാണ് ഈ പേരിൽ നിർവചിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. 1937 മുതൽ ഇത് ഗോൾഡൻ ഗേറ്റ് പാലം വഴി ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. തീരം മുഴുവനായും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള മുഴുവൻ ജലപ്രദേശങ്ങളും ഗോൾഡൻ ഗേറ്റ് നാഷണൽ റിക്രിയേഷൻ ഏരിയയുടെ പരിപാലന ചുമതലയിലാണുള്ളത്.[3]
