ജീവചരിത്രം തിരുത്തുക
1942ൽ സിറിയയിലെ ഡമസ്‌കസിൽ ഒരു പ്രമുഖ യാഥാസ്ഥിക ഡമസ്‌കിൻ കുടുംബത്തിൽ ജനിച്ചു. പ്രസിദ്ധ കവിയായിരുന്ന നിസാർ ഗബ്ബാനിയുടെ ഒരു അകന്ന ബന്ധുവാണ് ഗാദ . ഇവരുടെ പിതാവ് അഹമ്മദ് അൽ സമ്മാൻ സിറിയൻ സർവ്വകലാശാലാ പ്രസിഡന്റായിരുന്നു. ഗാദ അൽ സമ്മാൻ. വളരെ ചെറിയ കുട്ടിയായിരിക്കെ മാതാവ് മരണപ്പെട്ടു.
