ഒനഗഡോറി
ചരിത്രപരമായ ജാപ്പനീസ് സങ്കരവർഗ്ഗത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ഒരിനം കോഴി ആണ് ഒനഗഡോറി .(Japanese: 尾長鶏, "long-tailed chicken") നീണ്ട വാൽ ഇതിൻറെ സവിശേഷതയാണ്. പതിനേഴാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ തെക്കൻ ജപ്പാനിലെ ഷിക്കോകു ദ്വീപിലെ കൊച്ചി പ്രിഫെക്ചറിൽ ഒനഗഡോറിയെ വളർത്തിയിരുന്നു. 1952-ൽ ജാപ്പനീസ് നാഷണൽ നാച്യൂറൽ ട്രെഷറിൽ ഈ കോഴിയെ നാമനിർദ്ദേശം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. ഈ ഇനം കോഴി ജർമൻ ഫീനിക്സ് ഇനത്തിലെ മുൻഗാമികളിലൊരാളാണ്.[2]

രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ തെക്കുകിഴക്കൻ ഭാഗത്തുള്ള ഷിക്കോകു ദ്വീപിൽ പതിനേഴാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ തോസ പ്രവിശ്യയിൽ, ഇപ്പോൾ കൊച്ചി പ്രിഫെക്ചർ എന്ന പ്രദേശത്താണ് ഒനഗഡോറി വളർത്തിയിരുന്നത്. ആ പ്രദേശത്ത് [3] പ്രധാനമായും നങ്കോകുവിൽ മാത്രമാണ് ഇതിനെ വളർത്തുന്നത്. [4] ഷോക്കോക്കു, ടോട്ടെങ്കോ, ഒരുപക്ഷേ മിനോഹിക്കി എന്നിവയുൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള നീളമുള്ള വാലുള്ള ജാപ്പനീസ് ഇനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഇത് ഉത്ഭവിച്ചതെന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു.[2]
