അമൃതപാല
ചെടിയുടെ ഇനം
തെക്കേ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഒരു തദ്ദേശസസ്യമാണ് അമൃതപാല എന്ന വള്ളിച്ചെടി. [1] ഇതിൽ 2-3 വർഷമാകുമ്പോഴേക്കും വലിയ കിഴങ്ങുകൾ ഉണ്ടാവാറുണ്ട്. ഔഷധഗുണവും സുഗന്ധവുള്ള അമൃതപാലയുടെ കിഴങ്ങ് അച്ചാറുണ്ടാക്കാനും ആരോഗ്യവർദ്ധനത്തിനായും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. [2] വേരിൽ നിന്നും വേർതിരിച്ചെടുക്കുന്ന പദാർത്ഥത്തിന് ആന്റിഓക്സിഡന്റ് ഗുണങ്ങളുണ്ട്. [3] [4] [5] [6] അമൃതപാല വർദ്ധിച്ച ആവശ്യകതയും തന്മൂലമുള്ള അമിതമായ ഉപഭോഗവും ഇതിന്റെ നിലനിൽപ്പിനുതന്നെ ഭീഷണിയാവുന്നു. കായകൾ വട്ടക്കാക്കൊടിയോട്സാമ്യമുണ്ട്. പാലോട് ബൊട്ടാണിക്കൽ ഗാർഡനിൽ അമൃതപാലയും, ആരോഗ്യപ്പച്ചയും, പേര് വെളിപ്പെടുത്താത്ത മറ്റ് മൂന്ന് സസ്യങ്ങളും ചേർന്ന കാൻസർ മരുന്ന് വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുക്കാൻ ശ്രമം നടത്തിയിരുന്നു.
