സിസ്‌റ്റോമസ് ക്രൈസ്യസ്‌
കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്നും കണ്ടെത്തിയ പുതിയ ഇനം മത്സ്യമാണ് സിസ്‌റ്റോമസ് ക്രൈസ്യസ്‌ (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Systomus chryseus).[2] കൊല്ലം ചവറ ഗവൺമെന്റ് കോളേജ് സുവോളജി വിഭാഗം മേധാവി പ്രൊഫസർ മാത്യൂസ് പ്ലാമൂട്ടിലാണ് പുതിയ ഇനത്തെ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞത്. മല്ലപ്പള്ളിക്കടുത്തുള്ള കീഴ്‌വായ്പൂരിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഈ ഇനത്തെ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.

നീളമുള്ളതും സ്വർണനിറമുള്ളതുമാണ് ഇവ. നെഞ്ചിലെ ചിറകിനും കൂടുതൽ നീളമുണ്ട്.[3]
