ലൂസി ആബെൽ
ലൂസി ഡബ്ല്യു. ആബെൽ (1808 - 3 ഡിസംബർ 1893) [1] ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ ഫിസിഷ്യനും [2] DC വിമൻസ് ഫിസിയോളജിക്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റിയുടെ സ്ഥാപകയുമായിരുന്നു. [3] മസാച്യുസെറ്റ്‌സിലെ ബോസ്റ്റണിൽ ഹോമിയോപ്പതി പരിശീലിച്ച ആദ്യത്തെ സ്ത്രീകളിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്നു അവൾ. [4]

സക്കറിയ വെസ്റ്റണിന്റെ മകളായി മസാച്യുസെറ്റ്‌സിലെ വാൾതാമിലാണ് ലൂസി വെസ്റ്റൺ ജനിച്ചത്. [5] ബോസ്റ്റണിലെ ന്യൂ ഇംഗ്ലണ്ട് ഫീമെയിൽ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ 1857-ൽ 49-ാം വയസ്സിൽ അവൾ വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രം പഠിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി. [6] അവൾ 1860 [6] പെൻസിൽവാനിയ മെഡിക്കൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് ഫിലാഡൽഫിയയിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടി. ലൂസിയെ 'മെഡിക്കൽ പ്രവൃത്തിയിലെ ലൈംഗികതയുടെ തുടക്കക്കാരിലൊരാൾ' എന്നും 'ബോസ്റ്റണിലും, ന്യൂ ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലും ഹോമിയോപ്പതി പരിശീലിച്ച ആദ്യത്തെ സ്ത്രീകളിൽ (ഒന്നല്ലെങ്കിൽ ആദ്യത്തെ സ്ത്രീ)' എന്നും വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.
