ലാറ്റെ
എസ്‌പ്രെസോയും ആവി പറക്കുന്ന പാലും ചേർത്തുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന ഒരുതരം കാപ്പിയാണ് ലാട്ടെ എന്ന ചുരുക്കപ്പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന കഫേ ലാട്ടെ ( പാൽകാപ്പി , ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ മിൽക്ക് കോഫി ). ലാട്ടെ എന്ന ഇറ്റാലിയൻ വാക്കിൻറെ അർഥം പാൽ എന്നാണെങ്കിലും ഇന്ന് പൊതുവെ ലാട്ടെ എന്നാൽ പാലു ചേർത്ത കോഫി എന്നാണ് വിവക്ഷ. സാധാരണയായി കോഫി ഷോപ്പുകളിൽ വ്യക്തിഗത അഭിരുചിക്കനുസരിച്ച് വ്യത്യസ്ത രീതികളിൽ ലാട്ടെ ലഭ്യമാണ്.[1][2][3][4]

നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളായി ആളുകൾ കാപ്പിയും പാലും സംയോജിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ലാറ്റെയുടെ ഉത്ഭവം വളരെ വ്യക്തമല്ല. എന്നിരുന്നാലും ഇന്ന് അറിയാവുന്നതും ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നതുമായ ലാറ്റെ അമേരിക്കയിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഉത്ഭവിച്ചതെന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു, ഇത് 80-കളിൽ സിയാറ്റിലിൽ ജനപ്രീതിയുടെ കൊടുമുടിയിലെത്തി.
