ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ[3] ലക്ഷ്മി ഇന്ദിര പാണ്ഡ ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ വിപ്ലവകാരിയും[4][5] നേതാജി സുബാഷ് ചന്ദ്ര ബോസിന്റെ ഇന്ത്യൻ നാഷണൽ ആർമിയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞ അംഗങ്ങളിൽ ഒരാളുമായിരുന്നു.[6] ഐഎൻഎയിൽ സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ച ഏക ഒഡിയ വനിതയായിരുന്നു പാണ്ട.[2]

പാണ്ടയ്ക്ക് 14 വയസ്സ് മാത്രം പ്രായമുള്ളപ്പോൾ ഇന്ത്യൻ നാഷണൽ ആർമിയിൽ (INA) റാണി ഓഫ് ഝാൻസി റെജിമെന്റിൽ ചേർന്നു, ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഭരണത്തിനെതിരെ പോരാടി.[2]
2008 ഒക്‌ടോബറിൽ പാണ്ഡയുടെ മരണശേഷം അവളുടെ സ്മരണയ്ക്കായി ജയ്‌പൂരിൽ ഒരു പ്രതിമ സ്ഥാപിക്കുമെന്ന് ഒഡീഷ സർക്കാർ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.[7]
2008 ഒക്ടോബർ 25-ന്, ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഒരു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ സമര സേനാനിക്ക് നൽകുന്ന ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന പദവിയായ രാഷ്ട്രീയ സ്വതന്ത്ര സൈനിക് സമ്മാന് അവർക്ക് ലഭിച്ചു.[1]
മരണം
തിരുത്തുക2008 ഒക്ടോബർ 7-ന്, ദീർഘനാളത്തെ അസുഖത്തെ തുടർന്ന് ഡൽഹി എയിംസിൽ വെച്ച് പാണ്ട മരിച്ചു.[8] പൂർണ്ണ സംസ്ഥാന ബഹുമതികളോടെ അവരെ സംസ്കരിച്ചു. ഒറീസ പോലീസിന് വേണ്ടി ഗാർഡ് ഓഫ് ഓണറും നൽകി.[7]
