രാം ബിഹാരി അറോറ
ഇന്ത്യൻ ഫാർമക്കോളജിസ്റ്റും മെഡിക്കൽ അക്കാദമികും ഇന്ത്യൻ സംസ്ഥാനമായ രാജസ്ഥാനിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജായ സവായ് മാൻസിംഗ് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലെ ഫാർമക്കോളജി വിഭാഗത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാപക തലവനുമായിരുന്നു രാം ബെഹാരി അറോറ (1917–1997). [1][2] നാഷണൽ അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ സയൻസസിന്റെ സ്ഥാപക കൂട്ടാളികളിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.[3][4]

1917 മാർച്ച് 31 ന് ജനിച്ച അറോറ കാർഡിയോവാസ്കുലർ ഫാർമക്കോതെറാപ്പിറ്റിക്സ് മേഖലയിലെ സംഭാവനകളാൽ പ്രശസ്തനായിരുന്നു. [5] പരമ്പരാഗത ഇന്ത്യൻ വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ഗവേഷണം നടത്തിയ അദ്ദേഹം ഈ വിഷയത്തിൽ നിരവധി മെഡിക്കൽ പ്രബന്ധങ്ങൾ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു. [6][note 1]അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ലേഖനങ്ങൾ പല എഴുത്തുകാരും ഉദ്ധരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. [7][8] ശാസ്ത്ര ഗവേഷണത്തിനായുള്ള ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവൺമെന്റിന്റെ പരമോന്നത ഏജൻസിയായ കൗൺസിൽ ഓഫ് സയന്റിഫിക് ആൻഡ് ഇൻഡസ്ട്രിയൽ റിസർച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് 1961 ൽ മെഡിക്കൽ സയൻസിന് നൽകിയ സംഭാവനകൾക്കുള്ള ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന ഇന്ത്യൻ സയൻസ് അവാർഡുകളിലൊന്നായ ശാന്തി സ്വരൂപ് ഭട്നഗർ പ്രൈസ് ഫോർ സയൻസ് ആന്റ് ടെക്നോളജി നൽകി.[9][note 2] അദ്ദേഹം ഈ ബഹുമതി ലഭിച്ച ആദ്യത്തെ ഫിസിഷ്യനായി.[10][11]
