മോണ്ടെറി കൗണ്ടി
മോണ്ടെറി കൗണ്ടി, അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിലെ കാലിഫോർണിയാ സംസ്ഥാനത്തിൻറെ പസഫിക് തീരത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു കൗണ്ടിയാണ്. 2010 ലെ അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിലെ സെൻസസ് രേഖകൾ പ്രകാരമുള്ള ഈ കൗണ്ടിയിലെ ജനസംഖ്യ 415,057 ആയിരുന്നു.[5] സലിനാസ് ആണ് കൗണ്ടി സീറ്റും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നഗരവും.[6]

ചരിത്രം
തിരുത്തുക1850 ൽ കാലിഫോർണിയയ്ക്കു സംസ്ഥാന പദവി ലഭിച്ച കാലത്തു രൂപീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ട കാലിഫോർണിയയുടെ ആദ്യകാല കൌണ്ടികളിലൊന്നാണ് മോണ്ടെറി കൌണ്ടി. ഈ കൗണ്ടിയുടെ ഭാഗങ്ങൾ 1874 ൽ സാൻ ബെനിറ്റോ കൗണ്ടിക്ക് കൈമാറ്റം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ഒഹ്‍ലോൺ, സലിനാൻ, എസ്സെലെൻ തുടങ്ങിയ അമേരിക്കൻ ഇന്ത്യൻ ഗോത്രങ്ങളുടെ അധിവാസകേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്നു യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ ഈ പ്രദേശം.
