[[പുഷ്പിക്കുന്ന സസ്യങ്ങൾ|പുഷ്പിക്കുന്ന സസ്യങ്ങളിൽ]] [[റുബീസിയ]] കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഉപവിഭാഗമാണ് '''വാൻഗ്വേറിയേ''' - '''Vanguerieae '''. ആകെയുള്ള 600 സ്പീഷിസുകളിൽ 25 ഓളം സ്പീഷിസുകൾ മുഖ്യ ആധിപത്യം വഹിക്കുന്നവയാണ് വാൻഗ്വേറിയേ വിഭാഗം സാധാരണയായി പ്രാധാന്യമർഹിക്കുന്നവയും വ്യത്യസ്തങ്ങളായ വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നവയുമാണ്. ആഫ്രിക്കയിലെ നനവാർന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും (മഴക്കാടുകൾ) വരണ്ട പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും (മഡഗാസ്കറിലെ വരണ്ട ഭൂപ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ) ഇവ ഒരു പോലെ വളരുന്നു. ഇവ സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്നും 2000 മീറ്റർ ഉയരമുള്ള പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലാണ് ഇവ സമൃദ്ധമായി വളരുന്നത്.
