തെൽമ അഡെലെ പാറ്റൻ ലോ (ജീവിതകാലം: ഡിസംബർ 30, 1900 - നവംബർ 12, 1968) ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ വൈദ്യനായിരുന്നു. ടെക്സസിലെ ഹൂസ്റ്റണിലാണ് പാറ്റൻ ലോ വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രം പരിശീലിച്ചത്. ആഫ്രിക്കൻ അമേരിക്കക്കാരുടെയും ഹൂസ്റ്റണിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രരുടെയും ആരോഗ്യം മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്താൻ സഹായിക്കുന്നതിലാണ് അവൾ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരുന്നത്. ഹാരിസ് കൗണ്ടി മെഡിക്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റിയിൽ പ്രവേശനം നേടിയ ആദ്യത്തെ ആഫ്രിക്കൻ അമേരിക്കൻ വനിതയായിരുന്നു അവർ.

1900 ഡിസംബർ 30-ന് അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിലെ ടെക്‌സസിലെ ഹണ്ട്‌സ്‌വില്ലെയിലാണ് തെൽമ അഡെലെ പാറ്റൻ ലോ ജനിച്ചത്.[1][2] പാറ്റൻ ലോയുടെ പിതാവ്, മേസൺ ബി. പാറ്റൻ അവളെ ഒരു ഫിസിഷ്യൻ ആകാൻ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചു.[3][4] അവളുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കളായ മേസണും പോളിനും ഹ്യൂസ്റ്റണിൽ കറുത്തവർഗ്ഗക്കാരുമായി ഇടപഴകിയിരുന്നതുകൂടാതെ അവളുടെ പിതാവ് NAACP എന്ന പൗരാവകാശ സംഘടനയുടെ ഹ്യൂസ്റ്റൺ ചാപ്റ്റർ സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.[5] പാറ്റൻ ലോ കളർഡ് ഹൈസ്‌കൂളിൽ (പിന്നീട് ബുക്കർ ടി. വാഷിംഗ്ടൺ ഹൈസ്‌കൂൾ) വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നടത്തുകയും, അവിടെ അവൾ 1917-ൽ ക്ലാസിലെ ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനക്കാരിയായി ബിരുദം നേടുകയും ചെയ്തു.[6] 1923-ൽ ഹോവാർഡ് യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റിയിൽ നിന്ന് മെഡിക്കൽ ബിരുദം നേടിയ അവർ, 1924-ൽ മെഡിക്കൽ ലൈസൻസും നേടി.[7] ഹോവാർഡിൽ ആയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഡെൽറ്റ സിഗ്മ തീറ്റയുടെ ചാർട്ടർ മെമ്പറായിരുന്ന അവർ 1927-ൽ ഹൂസ്റ്റൺ ചാപ്റ്ററിന്റെ സഹസ്ഥാപകയും പ്രസിഡന്റുമായിരുന്നു.[8][9]

1940-ൽ പാറ്റൻ ലോ ലോൺ സ്റ്റാർ മെഡിക്കൽ അസോസിയേഷന്റെ പ്രസിഡന്റായി തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[18] 1955-ൽ ഹാരിസ് കൗണ്ടി മെഡിക്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റിയിൽ പ്രവേശനം നേടിയ ആദ്യത്തആഫ്രിക്കൻ അമേരിക്കൻ വനിതയായി.[19] 1968 നവംബർ 12-ന് അന്തരിച്ച പാറ്റൻ ലോ പാരഡൈസ് നോർത്ത് സെമിത്തേരിയിൽ അടക്കം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടത്.[20]
