ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് രാജവംശത്തിലെ വില്യം രാജകുമാരന്റെയും, കേംബ്രിഡ്ജിലെ ഡച്ച്സ് കാതറീൻ മിഡിൽടണിന്റെയും പുത്രനാണ് ജോർജ്ജ് അലക്സാണ്ടർ ലൂയിസ് (George Alexander Louis)[1] എന്ന കേംബ്രിഡ്ജിലെ ജോർജ്ജ് രാജകുമാരൻ(ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: Prince George of Cambridge). വേൽസിലെ രാജകുമാരൻ ചാൾസിന്റെ പൗത്രനുമാണ് ജോർജ്ജ്[2]

2012 ഡിസംബർ 3നാണ് വില്യം-കാതറീൻ ദമ്പതിമാർ തങ്ങളുടെ ആദ്യത്തെ കുട്ടിക്കായി പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്ന വാർത്ത സെന്റ് ജേംസ് പാലസ് ഔദ്യോഗികമായി പുറത്തുവിട്ടത്. [3][4]
2013 ജൂലൈ 22ന് രാവിലെ പ്രസവത്തിനായി കാതറീനെ ലണ്ടനിലെ സെയിന്റ് മേരീസ് ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. [5][6] ജൂലയ് 22നു ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് സമയം വൈകീട്ട് 4:24നാണ് കാതറീൻ ഒരാൺകുഞ്ഞിനെ പ്രസവിച്ചത്. ജനനസമയത്ത് കുട്ടിക്ക് 3.80 കിലോഗ്രാം തൂക്കമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു[7][8] [9][10] ഡയാനയുടെ മക്കളായ വില്യമും, ഹാരിയും ജനിച്ച അതേ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ തന്നെയാണ് വില്യമിന്റെ ആദ്യപുത്രൻ ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്[9]
എലിസബത്ത് രാജ്ഞിയുടെ പിതാവായ ജോർജ്ജ് ആറാമന്റെ പേരാണ് കുഞ്ഞിനും നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.
