ചാൾസ് ചിൽട്ടൺ
ചാൾസ് ചിൽട്ടൺ (27 September 1860 – 25 October 1929) ന്യൂസിലന്റിലെ ജന്തുശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞാനായിരുന്നു. ന്യൂസിലാന്റിൽ ആദ്യമായി ഒരു ഡോക്ടർ ഓഫ് സയ്യൻസ് നേടിയ ആളായിരുന്നു.[1][2]

ചിൽട്ടൺ 1860 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 27നു ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ ഹെറെഫോർഡ്ഷയറിലെ ലിയൊമിനിസ്റ്ററിനടുത്തുള്ള പെൻകോമ്മ്ബിയിലുള്ള ലിട്ടിൽ മാർസ്റ്റോണിൽ ജനിച്ചു.[3][4] 1862ൽ തന്റെ കുടുമ്പത്തോടൊപ്പം ന്യൂസിലാന്റിലേയ്ക്കു താമസം മാറ്റി. അവിടെ നോർത്ത് കാന്റർബറിയിലെ ഈസ്റ്റ് അയർട്ടണിൽ ഒരു ഫാമിൽ താമസമുറപ്പിച്ചു.[5] തന്റെ ഇടത്തെ കാൽ മുറിഞ്ഞുപോയതിനാൽ കൃത്രിമകാലും താങ്ങുമായാണ് ശിഷ്ടകാലം ജീവിച്ചത്.[2][6]
1875ൽ കാന്റർബറി കോളിജിൽ ചേർന്നു തുടർന്ന് അവിടെനിന്നും 1878ൽ അവിടെനിന്നും മട്രിക്കുലേഷൻ പാസായി.[4]
