എല്ലെൻ സാൻഡെൽ
ഒരു ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരിയും പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവർത്തകയുമാണ് എല്ലെൻ സാൻഡെൽ (ജനനം: 26 ജനുവരി 1988)[1] . ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ ഗ്രീൻസ് അംഗമായി 2014 മുതൽ വിക്ടോറിയ പാർലമെന്റിൽ മെൽബണിലെ വോട്ടർമാരെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ചു. നിലവിൽ വിക്ടോറിയൻ ഗ്രീന്സിന്റെ ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി ലീഡറാണ്.

2009 ലെ യംഗ് എൻവയോൺമെന്റലിസ്റ്റ് ഓഫ് ദി ഇയർ അവാർഡിന് അർഹയായി. 2011–2012 കാലയളവിൽ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ യൂത്ത് ക്ലൈമറ്റ് കോളിഷൻ ഡയറക്ടറുമായിരുന്നു. [2][3]
വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം തിരുത്തുക
എല്ലെൻ സാൻഡൽ വളർന്നത് മിൽദുരയിലാണ്. [4] അവിടെ സെന്റ് ജോസഫ്സ് കോളേജിൽ ചേർന്നു. [5] മെൽബൺ സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് 2008 ൽ ബാച്ചിലർ ഓഫ് ആർട്സിലും (സ്പാനിഷ്, ഭാഷാശാസ്ത്രം എന്നിവയിൽ പ്രധാനം) ബാച്ചിലർ ഓഫ് സയൻസിലും (ജനിതകശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ പ്രധാനം)ബിരുദം നേടി. [6] 2007 ൽ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ യൂത്ത് ക്ലൈമറ്റ് കോളിഷനിൽ ചേർന്ന അവർ 2011 ൽ ഡയറക്ടറായി.[2]
കരിയർ തിരുത്തുക
യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ തന്നെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥി രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിൽ ഏർപ്പെടുകയും 2007 ൽ മെൽബൺ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി സ്റ്റുഡന്റ് യൂണിയന്റെ പരിസ്ഥിതി ഓഫീസറായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.[7]2007 മുതൽ 2009 വരെ വിക്ടോറിയൻ ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്മെന്റ് ഓഫ് പ്രീമിയർ ആന്റ് കാബിനറ്റിൽ [7]പോളിസി ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായി സാൻഡെലിനെ നിയമിച്ചു. ബ്രംബി ലേബർ ഗവൺമെന്റിന്റെ കാലാവസ്ഥാ വ്യതിയാന തന്ത്രത്തിലും ഗ്രീൻ പേപ്പറിലും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.[8] 2009 നും 2012 നും ഇടയിൽ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ യൂത്ത് ക്ലൈമറ്റ് കോളിഷനിൽ (എ വൈ സി സി) സാൻഡെൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെ ദേശീയ ഡയറക്ടറാകുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് ജനറൽ മാനേജരായി സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. എ.വൈ.സി.സി പിരിഞ്ഞുപോയതിനുശേഷം 2013 ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ ഫെഡറൽ തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ സൈമൺ ഷെയ്ക്കിന്റെ സെനറ്റ് പ്രചാരണത്തിന്റെ വിജയത്തിനായി ആക്റ്റ് ഗ്രീൻസ് പാർട്ടി പ്രചാരണ മാനേജരായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. 2013 ൽ മെൽബൺ സീറ്റിലേക്കുള്ള ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ ഗ്രീൻസ് വിക്ടോറിയ സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥിയായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[9]
ലേബർ സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥി ജെന്നിഫർ കാനിസിനെതിരെ 2014 ലെ സംസ്ഥാന തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ മെൽബണിൽ സാൻഡെൽ വിജയിച്ചു.[10]2018 ലെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ അതേ ലേബർ എതിരാളിക്കെതിരെ അല്പം ചെറിയ വ്യത്യാസത്തിലാണ് അവർ സ്ഥാനം പിടിച്ചത്. ആ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിനെത്തുടർന്ന് വിക്ടോറിയൻ പാർലമെന്റിലെ ഗ്രീൻസ് പാർട്ടി റൂം ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി ലീഡറായി സാൻഡെലിനെ നിയമിച്ചു. പാർട്ടി നേതാവ് സാമന്ത രത്‌നത്തിനൊപ്പം സേവനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.[11][12]
