എഡ്വാർഡ് എഗ്ഗിൾസ്റ്റൺ

എഡ്വാർഡ് എഗ്ഗിൾസ്റ്റൺ (ജീവിതകാലം : ഡിസംബർ 10, 1837 – സെപ്റ്റംബർ 3, 1902) ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ ചരിത്രകാരനും നോവലിസ്റ്റുമായിരുന്നു.

ജീവിതരേഖ

എഡ്വാർഡ് എഗ്ഗിൾസ്റ്റൺ ഇന്ത്യാനയിലെ വെവായിൽ ജോസഫ് കാരി എഗ്ഗിൾസ്റ്റൻറെയും മേരി ജെയിൻ ക്രെയ്‍ഗിൻറെയും പുത്രനായി ജനിച്ചു. എഴുത്തുകാരനായ ജോർജ്ജ് കാരി എഗ്ഗിൾസ്റ്റൺ അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻറെ സഹോദരനായിരുന്നു. ബാല്യകാലത്ത് സ്ഥിരമായി അസുഖങ്ങൾ പിടിപെട്ടിരുന്നതുകാരണം തുടർച്ചയായി സ്കൂളിൽ പോകുവാൻ സാധിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. പ്രാഥമിക വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം കിട്ടിയത് പിതാവിൻറെയടുത്തുനിന്നുമായിരുന്നു. 1856 ൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു മെതോഡിസ്റ്റ് മന്ത്രിയായി നിയമിതനായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം നിരവധി കഥകൾ രചിച്ചിരുന്നു. "Hoosier" പോലെയുള്ള കഥാപരമ്പരകൾ നിരവധിയാളുകളെ ആകർഷിച്ചിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം രചിച്ച പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട കൃതികളിൽ "The Hoosier Schoolmaster", "The Hoosier Schoolboy", "The End of the World", "The Faith Doctor", "Queer Stories for Boys and Girls" എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻറെ വെവായിലെ ബാല്യകാലവസതിയായ "Edward and George Cary Eggleston House" 1973 ൽ National Register of Historic Places ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു.
