ഇന്ത്യയുടെ കാലാവസ്ഥ
ഭൂമിശാസ്ത്രപരമായി ഏറെ വലിപ്പമുള്ളതിനാലും പ്രത്യേകതയുള്ളതിനാലും വൈവിധ്യമാർന്ന ദിനാന്തരീക്ഷ സ്ഥിതിയുള്ളതിനാലും ഇന്ത്യക്ക് പൊതുവായി ഒരു കാലാവസ്ഥയാണ് എന്ന് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കില്ല. കോപ്പൻ സമ്പ്രദായത്തെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി പറയുമ്പോൾ ഇന്ത്യക്ക് പ്രധാനമായും ആറ് കാലാവസ്ഥ ഉപവിഭാഗങ്ങളാണ് ഉള്ളത്. പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ഭാഗത്തെ വരണ്ട മരുഭൂമി, വടക്ക് ഭാഗത്തായി ആൽപിൻ തുന്ദ്രയും ഹിമാനികളുമുള്ള അവസ്ഥ, മഴക്കാടുകൾ നിറഞ്ഞ തെക്ക് പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ഭാഗവും ദീപ് അതിർത്ഥിയും എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവയെ തരം തിരിക്കാം.,
ചില പ്രാദേശിയ അഡ്ജസറ്റ്മെൻറിലൂടെ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര മാനദണ്ഡത്തെപ്പോലെ പ്രധാനമായും നാല് കാലാവസ്ഥാഅവസ്ഥകളാണ് രാജ്യത്തെ കാലാവസ്ഥാ വകുപ്പും നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്. പ്രാദേശിക ക്രമീകരണങ്ങളോടെ: ശീതകാലം (ജനുവരി, ഫെബ്രുവരി), വേനൽക്കാലം (മാർച്ച്, ഏപ്രിൽ, മെയ്), മൺസൂൺ എന്നാൽ മഴക്കാലം (ജൂൺ മുതൽ സെപ്റ്റംബർ വരെ), മൺസൂണിനു ശേഷമുള്ള കാലഘട്ടം (ഒക്ടോബർ മുതൽ ഡിസംബർ വരെ) എന്നിവയാണ് അവ.
