അശോക് കുമാർ (ഹോക്കി താരം)
ഇന്ത്യൻ ഫീൽഡ് ഹോക്കി താരം
ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ പ്രൊഫഷണൽ ഹോക്കി താരമായിരുന്നു അശോക് കുമാർ (ജനനം: 1950 ജൂൺ 1). ഉത്തർപ്രദേശിലെ മീററ്റിൽ ആയിരുന്നു ജനനം. ഇന്ത്യൻ ഹോക്കി ഇതിഹാസം ധ്യാൻ ചന്ദ്‌ സിങിന്റെ മകനാണ് ഇദ്ദേഹം. 1975 ലെ ലോകകപ്പ് ഹോക്കി നേടിയ ഇന്ത്യൻ ടീമിന്റെ അംഗമായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.

1974 ൽ അദ്ദേഹം അർജുന അവാർഡ് കരസ്ഥമാക്കി. ഒരു വർഷത്തിനു ശേഷം 1975 ൽ പാകിസ്താനെതിരെ ഗോൾ നേടി ഇന്ത്യക്ക് ലോകകപ്പ് ഹോക്കി കീരീടം സമ്മാനിച്ചു.[2] ഉത്തർപ്രദേശ് സർക്കാർ 2013 ൽ യാഷ് ഭാരതി പുരസ്‌കാരം അവാർഡ് നൽകി ആദരിച്ചു[3]
