സങ്കട മോചൻ ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ
സങ്കട മോചൻ ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ (SMF) ഗംഗയിലെ മാലിന്യത്തെ വൃത്തിയാക്കുന്നതിന് ഗംഗയെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിന് സമർപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട സർക്കാരിതര സംഘടനയാണിത്. വാരണാസിയിലെ സങ്കട മോചൻ ഹനുമാൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ മതപരമായ ദൗത്യമാണ്, ഈ പ്രകൃതി സംരക്ഷണ ദൗത്യം. അന്തരിച്ച വീർ ഭദ്ര മിശ്രയായിരുന്നു രണ്ടിന്റേയും മാനേജർ[1][2] മിശ്രയ്ക്ക് 1992ൽ ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്ര സഭയുടെ പരിസ്ഥിതി പരിപാടി (UNEP)യുടെ "ഗ്ലോബൽ 500 റോൾ ഓഫ് ഓണർ" നൽകുകയുണ്ടായി.[3]ആസ്ത്രേലിയൻ പരിസ്ഥിതി കൂട്ടായ്മയായ ഓസ് ഗ്രീനുമായി (Oz Greene) ചേർന്ന് "സ്വച്ച് ഗംഗ അഭിയാൻ" എന്ന പരിപാടി നടത്തിവരുന്നു. അതിന്റെ രജത് ജൂബിലി 2007 നവംബർ 3-4 ആയി ആഘോഷിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.[4]
