വിറ്റ്‍വാട്ടർസ്രാന്റ് സർവ്വകലാശാല

ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിലെ ജോഹനാസ്ബർഗ്ഗിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു വിവിധ-ക്യാമ്പസ് ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കൻ പൊതുഗവേഷണ സർവ്വകലാശാലയാണ് വിറ്റ്‍വാട്ടർസ്രാന്റ് സർവ്വകലാശാല[5]. ഇത് വിറ്റ്സ് സർവ്വകലാശാല എന്നാണ് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ജോഹനാസ്ബെർഗ്ഗിനും വിറ്റ്‍വാട്ടർസ്രാന്റിനുമെന്നപോലെ ഖനന വ്യവസായവുമായി ഈ സർവ്വകലാശാലക്കും നേരിട്ട് ബന്ധമുണ്ട്. 1896 ൽ സൗത്താഫ്രിക്കൻ സ്ക്കൂൾ ഓഫ് കിമ്പർലി എന്ന പേരിലാണ് ഈ സർവ്വകലാശാല സ്ഥാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്. ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പഴക്കമുള്ള സർവ്വകലാശാലയിൽ മൂന്നാമത്തെതാണ് ഈ സർവ്വകലാശാല. മറ്റുരണ്ടെണ്ണം കേപ്പ് ടൗൺ സർവ്വകലാശാലയും (1829 ൽ സ്ഥാപിതം)[6] സ്റ്റെല്ലെൻബോഷ് സർവ്വകലാശാലയുമാണ് (1866 ൽ സ്ഥാപിതം)[7].
