മാർവാഡി ആട്
ചെമ്മരിയാടുകളുടെ ഇന്ത്യൻ ഇനമാണ് മാർവാഡി. ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വടക്ക്-പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ഭാഗത്തുള്ള തെക്ക്-പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ രാജസ്ഥാനിലെ മാർവാർ മേഖലയിലാണ് ഈ ആടുകളുടെ സ്വദേശം. മാർവാറിലെ അഞ്ച് പ്രധാന ജില്ലകളിൽ - ബാർമർ, ജലോർ, ജോധ്പൂർ, നാഗൗർ, പാലി - കൂടാതെ രാജസ്ഥാൻ, ഗുജറാത്ത് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ ചില അയൽ ജില്ലകളിലും ഇവയെ വളർത്തുന്നു.[4]

സവിശേഷതകൾ തിരുത്തുക
തവിട്ടു നിറത്തിലോ കറുപ്പ് നിറത്തിലോ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഇവയുടെ ശരീരത്തിലെ രോമം നീളം കൂടിയതാണ്‌. കൂടാതെ മുട്ടനാടിനെപ്പോലെ ഇവയിൽ എല്ലാറ്റിനും താടിരോമങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്. പരന്നു നീണ്ട ചെവി, വണ്ണം കുറഞ്ഞ കൊമ്പ്, ഒതുക്കമുള്ള ശരീരം എന്നിവ ഇവയുടെ എടുത്തുപറയത്തക്ക പ്രത്യേകതകളാണ്‌. മുട്ടനാടിന്‌ ശരാശരി 35 കിലോഗ്രാം തൂക്കവും പെണ്ണാടിന്‌ 25 കിലോഗ്രാം തൂക്കവും ഉണ്ടാകും[6]. ഒരു ദിവസം ഒരു ലിറ്റർ പാൽ ആണ്‌ ശരാശരി ലഭിക്കുന്നത്. പ്രസവത്തിൽ സാധാരണയായി ഒരു കുട്ടി മാത്രമാകും ഉണ്ടാകുക.
