മയിൽസ്വാമി അണ്ണാദുരൈ
തമിഴ്‌നാട് സ്റ്റേറ്റ് കൗൺസിൽ ഫോർ സയൻസ് ആൻഡ് ടെക്‌നോളജിയുടെ (ടിഎൻ‌എസ്‌സി‌എസ്ടി) വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനാണ് മയിൽസ്വാമി അണ്ണാദുരൈ.[1][2] മൂൺ മാൻ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന അണ്ണാദുരൈ 1958 ജൂലൈ 2 ന് തമിഴ്‌നാട് സംസ്ഥാനമായ കോയമ്പത്തൂർ ജില്ലയിലെ പൊള്ളാച്ചിക്കടുത്തുള്ള കോത്താവടി ഗ്രാമത്തിലാണ് ജനിച്ചത്.[3][4][5] ഈ ചുമതല ഏറ്റെടുക്കുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് അദ്ദേഹം ഇന്ത്യൻ സ്പേസ് റിസർച്ച് ഓർഗനൈസേഷനിൽ ആയിരുന്നു പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്നത്. ബാംഗ്ലൂരിലെ ISRO സാറ്റലൈറ്റ് സെന്ററിൽ (ISAC), ഡയറക്ടറായി സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു.[6][7] ISROയിലെ 36 വർഷത്തെ സേവനത്തിനിടയിൽ ISROയുടെ രണ്ട് പ്രധാന ദൗത്യങ്ങളായ ചന്ദ്രയാൻ -1, മംഗല്യാൻ തുടങ്ങിയ മിഷനുകളിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു. 2014-ലെ 100 ആഗോള ചിന്തകരിൽ അണ്ണാദുരൈയും പുതുമയുള്ളവരുടെ പട്ടികയിൽ ഒന്നാമതുമാണ്.[8]തമിഴ്‌നാട് ബോർഡ് ഓഫ് സെക്കൻഡറി എജ്യുക്കേഷന്റെ പാഠപുസ്തകങ്ങളിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ പരാമർശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.[9]
