ആഫ്രിക്കൻ, ഇന്ത്യൻ, അന്റാർട്ടിക്ക് എന്നീ ടെക്റ്റോണിക് പ്ലേറ്റുകൾ സന്ധിക്കുന്നത് ഇന്ത്യൻ മഹാസമുദ്രത്തിലെ റോഡ്റിഗസ് ദ്വീപിനു സമീപമാണ്.
