==അവലംബം==
Alanallur panchayath is situated in the north east part of palakkad district sharing the boundries of malappuram district. It is the largest (58.24 square KM) and the most populated panchayath in palakkad District. Before 1869 it was a part of Arakkuparamba amsam and Desam. It was in 1869 the first Land survey was conducted. The Panchayath was formed in 1963. The adjustend panchayaths are Edappatta, Karuvarakundu, Melattur, Vettathur, Thezhekkode and Kottopadam. Parokkot Kunji Mammu Haji was the first Panchayath President. It has 23 wards and has about 50000 population.
