റീഫിലെ [[വിനോദസഞ്ചാരം]] വഴി ഓസ്ട്രേലിയയ്ക്ക് ധാരാളം വരുമാനം ലഭിക്കുന്നു. മീന്‍പിടുത്തവുംമീൻപിടുത്തവും ഇവിടെ ധാരാളമായി നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഇടപെടലുകള്‍ഇടപെടലുകൾ മൂലം റീഫിന്‌ നാശം സംഭവിക്കാതിരിക്കാന്‍സംഭവിക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ ഗ്രേറ്റ് ബാരിയര്‍ബാരിയർ റീഫ് മറീന്‍മറീൻ പാര്‍ക്ക്പാർക്ക് ശ്രമിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. എങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യനും പരിസ്ഥിതിയിലെ മാറ്റങ്ങളും റീഫിലെ ആവാസവ്യവസ്ഥയ്ക്ക് ഭീഷണിയുയര്‍ത്തുന്നുഭീഷണിയുയർത്തുന്നു.
