'''ജോ സ്റ്റാഫോർഡ്''' (നവംബർ 12, 1917 - ജൂലൈ 16, 2008) 1930 കളുടെ അവസാനം മുതൽ 1980 കളുടെ തുടക്കം വരെയുള്ള ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ പരമ്പരാഗത പോപ്പ് സംഗീത ഗായികയും വല്ലപ്പോഴും അഭിനയിക്കുന്ന ഒരു നടിയും ആയിരുന്നു. ജോയുടെ ശബ്ദത്തിന്റെ മാധുര്യം പ്രശംസനീയമായിരുന്നു. സംഗീതത്തിൽ പിന്തുടരുന്നതിനു മുൻപേ ഒരു ഓപ്പറ ഗായികയാകാൻ ക്ലാസിക്കൽ പരിശീലനം നേടിയിരുന്നു. 1955 ആയപ്പോഴേക്കും മറ്റേതൊരു സ്ത്രീ കലാകാരിയേയും അപേക്ഷിച്ച് ലോകമൊട്ടുക്കും റെക്കോഡ് നേട്ടം കൈവരിച്ചിരുന്നു. 1952-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ "[[You Belong to Me (1952 song)|യൂ ബെലോങ് ടു മീ]]" [[യുനൈറ്റഡ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ്സ്]], [[ബ്രിട്ടൻ]] എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ ചാർട്ടുകളിൽ ഒന്നാമതെത്തിയിരുന്നു. യു.കെ. സിംഗിൾസ് ചാർട്ടിൽ ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്തെത്തിയ ഒരു വനിതാ കലാകാരിയായിരുന്നു ജോ സ്റ്റാഫോർഡ്.
