"MS-DOSഎംഎസ്ഡോസ് 1.0" എന്നു പേരു നല്കിയ ഓപ്പറേറ്റിങ് സിസ്റ്റത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ പതിപ്പ് പുറത്തിറക്കിയത് 1982ൽ{{അവലംബം}} ആയിരുന്നു. IBMഐബിഎം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറുകളിലെ ഓപ്പറേറ്റിങ് സിസ്റ്റം പിസി ഡോസ്(PC DOS) എന്നാണ് അറിയപ്പെട്ടത്. സമാന്തരമായിട്ടാണ് ഇവ രണ്ടും തുടക്കത്തിൽ വികസിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നതെങ്കിലും പിന്നീട് രണ്ടും വ്യത്യസ്ത വഴികളിലാണ് പോയത്.
