2001ൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ ദേശീയ ടീമിനു വേണ്ടി ഇദ്ദേഹം അരങ്ങേറ്റം കുറിച്ചു.2004ലെ ആഥൻസ് ഒളിമ്പിക്സിലെ ഹോക്കി ടീമിൽ കളിക്കാരനായിരുന്നു.ആ ഒളിമ്പിക്സിൽ ഇന്ത്യ ഏഴാം സ്ഥാനം നേടി.ഇന്ത്യൻ ഓയില്ലിൽ ഓഫീസറായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.2012ൽ നടന്ന് വേൾഡ് ഹോക്കി സീരീസിൽ ഷേർ ഈ പഞ്ചാബിന്റെ നായകനായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.
