[[ഇന്ത്യ]]യിലെ [[ഒഡീഷ]] സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് കിഴക്ക് തീരത്ത് [[ബംഗാൾ ഉൾക്കടൽ|ബംഗാൾ ഉൾക്കടലിനോട്]] ചേർന്നുള്ള [[ലവണജല തടാകം|ലവണജല തടാകമാണ്]] '''ചിൽക്ക തടാകം'''.[[പുരി]], [[ഖുർദ]], [[ഖഞ്ജാം]] എന്നീ ജില്ലകളിലായി വ്യാപിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്ന ഈ തടാകം [[ദയ]] നദിയുടെ പതനപ്രദേശം കൂടിയാണ്. വലിപ്പത്തിൽ ഏഷ്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലുതും ലോകത്തിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തേയും [[ലഗൂൺ]] ആണിത്. മൺസൂൺ കാലത്തും വേനൽക്കാലത്തും ഇതിന്റെ വിസ്തീർണ്ണം വ്യത്യസ്തപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും. ശരാശരി 1100 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ ആണിതിന്റെ വിസ്തീർണ്ണം.കായലിൻറെ മദ്ധ്യ ദക്ഷിണ ഭാഗത്തായി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ദ്വീപ് സമൂഹമാണ് സൊമോളൊ - ദുംകുടി ദ്വീപുകൾ. പൂർവ ഘാട്ടുകളുടെ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങൾ ഈ ദ്വീപിൽ കാണാം. പാരിക്കുഡ് ദ്വീപുകൾ നല്ലൊരു ആകാശ കാഴ്ചയാണ് സഞ്ചാരികൾക്ക് നൽകുന്നത്. വർഷത്തിൽ ഏതു സമയവും ചിൽക്ക സന്ദർശിക്കാമെങ്കിലും ദേശാടനപക്ഷികൾ വിരുന്നിനെത്തുന്ന തണുപ്പ് കാലത്ത് ചിൽക്ക തടാകവും ദ്വീപുകളും കൂടുതൽ രസകരവും ആസ്വാദ്യവുമായിരിക്കും.
