[[ഇന്ത്യ|ഇന്ത്യൻ]] അതിർത്തിയ്ക്ക് അടുത്തായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ സ്ഥലം കണ്ടെത്തിയത് 1975-ൽ പാകിസ്താനി പുരാവസ്തു ഗവേഷകനായ [[എം.ആർ. മുഗൾ]] ആണ്. [[ഹക്ര]] നദിയുടെ (ഘാഗ്ഗർ എന്നും സരസ്വതീനദി എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു) വരണ്ടുപോയ നദീതടത്തിന് അടുത്താണ് ഈ സ്ഥലം.
