[[മലപ്പുറം ജില്ല|മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലയിലെ]] [[നിലമ്പൂർ താലൂക്ക്|നിലമ്പൂർ താലൂക്കിൽ]], വണ്ടൂർ ബ്ളോക്കിലാണ് 34.86 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ വിസ്തീർണ്ണമുള്ള പോരൂർ ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്ത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. 1961-ലാണ് പോരൂർ പഞ്ചായത്ത് രൂപീകൃതമായത്. വലിയ അങ്ങാടികളോ വ്യവസായ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളൊ ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒരു പഞ്ചായത്താണ് പോരൂർ. തൊടിയപ്പുലം റെയിൽവേസ്റ്റേഷൻ ഈ പഞ്ചായത്തിലാണ്.2015 മാർച്ച് മുതൽ എൻ സി പി, മുസ്ലിംലീഗ് പിന്തുണയോടെ [[സിപിഐഎം]]ലെ Archana NS ആണ് പഞ്ചായത്ത് ഭരിക്കുന്നത് <ref>http://www.lsg.kerala.gov.in/pages/standingCommittee.php?intID=5&ID=909&ln=ml</ref>.
