[[ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്ക|ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയുടെ]] മുൻപ്രസിഡണ്ടാണ് ''' ജേക്കബ് സുമ''' (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്:'''Jacob Zuma''') (ജനനം:12 ഏപ്രിൽ 1942). ഭരണകക്ഷിയായ ആഫ്രിക്കൻ നാഷണൽ കോൺഗ്രസിന്റെ പ്രസിഡണ്ട് കൂടിയാണ് ഇദ്ദേഹം.1999 മുതൽ 2005 വരെയുള്ള കാലയളവിൽ ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയുടെ ഉപപ്രസിഡണ്ട് സ്ഥാനം വഹിച്ചിരുന്നു. 2007 ഡിസംബർ 18 -നാണ് നിലവിലെ അധ്യക്ഷൻ തബോ മ്ബേയ്കിയെ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ടാണ് ജേക്കബ് സുമ ആഫ്രിക്കൻ നാഷണൽ കോൺഗ്രസിന്റെ അധ്യക്ഷപദവിയിലെത്തുന്നത്. മുൻപ് സൗത്ത് ആഫ്രിക്കൻ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടിയിലായിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം 1990-ൽ പാർട്ടി വിടുമ്പോൾ പോളിറ്റ് ബ്യൂറോ അംഗങ്ങളിലൊരാളായിരുന്നു.
