മധ്യഫോർമൊസാൻ ഭാഷ എന്നുകൂടി അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ത്സോവൂഇക് ഭാഷ മൂന്ന് ഫോർമോസാൻ ഭാഷകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു സംഘം ആണ്. ത്സോവൂ ഭാഷ കനകനബു ഭാഷ and സാരോവ ഭാഷ എന്നീ ഭാഷകളാണ് ഈ സംഘത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നത്. തെക്കെൻ ത്സോവൂയിക് ഭാഷകളായ കനകനബു, സരോവ ഭാഷകൾ മറ്റെ ഭാഷയിൽ നിന്നും കുറച്ച അധികം വെത്യസ്തമാണ്. ഈ മൂന്നു ഭാഷകളിലും 13 വ്യഞ്ജനങ്ങളൂം 4 സ്വരങ്ങളൂം മാത്രമേ ഉള്ളു. . (Blust 2009:165).[1] ഈ രണ്ട് ഭാഷകളും വല്ലാതെ അന്യം നിൽക്കൽ ഭീഷണിയിലാണ് എന്തെന്നാൽ ഇവ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവർ ബുനൂൻ , മന്ദരിൻ ചൈനീസ് എന്നീ ഭാഷകളീലേക്ക് ചേക്കേരിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്.

ഈ ഭാഷയുടെ പൂർവ്വരൂപം ചിനീസ് ഭാഷാശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനായ ഷിഗെരു ത്സിചിഡ 1976ൽ രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ബ്ലസ്റ്റ് (1999), ലീ (2008) എന്നിവർ ആ രൂപങ്ങളെ കൂടുതൽ പുഷ്ടിപ്പെടുത്തി.പക്ഷേ ചങ് (2006)[2] റോസ് (2009)[3] ത്സോവൂയിക് എന്ന ഒരു ഭാഷാസംഘത്തെ എതിർക്കുന്നു. റോസ് ത്സോവൂയികിനെ കേന്ദ്രീയ ആസ്റ്റ്രോനേഷ്യൻ (the family of the various proto-Austronesian reconstructions) ഗണത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു, എങ്കിലും ത്സോവൂ ഭാഷ കുറേക്കൂടി വെത്യസ്തതയുള്ള ശാഖയാണ്
