1859- ൽ സ്ഥാപിതമായ മിസ്സൗറി ബൊട്ടാണിക്കൽ ഗാർഡൻ യുണൈറ്റഡ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ്സിലെ ഏറ്റവും പഴക്കമുള്ള ബൊട്ടാണിക്കൽ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലൊന്നും [[National Historic Landmark|ദേശീയ ചരിത്രപരമായ ലാൻഡ്മാർക്കും]] ആണ്. ഈ ഗാർഡൻ [[National Register of Historic Places|ചരിത്രപരമായ സ്ഥലങ്ങളുടെ ദേശീയ രജിസ്റ്ററിൽ]] പട്ടികപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അന്തർദേശീയ അംഗീകാരമുളള സസ്യശാസ്ത്ര ഗവേഷണത്തിനും ശാസ്ത്ര പഠനത്തിനും ഉള്ള ഒരു കേന്ദ്രമാണ് ഈ ഗാർഡൻ. സെയിന്റ് ലൂയിസിലെപട്ടണത്തിൽ 79 ഏക്കർ (32 ഹെക്ടര്) പ്രദേശത്ത്ഹോർട്ടികൾച്ചറൽ പ്രദർശനവുമുണ്ട്. ഇതിൽ 14 ഏക്കർ (5.7 ഹെക്ടർ) [[Seiwa-en|സ്വീവാ -എൻ]] (Seiwa-en) എന്ന ജാപ്പനീസ് സ്ട്രോളിംഗ് ഗാർഡൻ ; ക്ലൈമാട്രോൺ ജിയോഡെസിക് ഡോം കൺസർവേറ്ററേഷൻ; എന്നിവയും കുട്ടികളുടെ ഉദ്യാനം; ഒരു കളിസ്ഥലം; പനാമ കനാലിനു ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ലോക്കിംഗ് സംവിധാനത്തിനു സമാനമായ ജലധാര പ്രദേശവും ജലലോണ സംവിധാനവും; ഓസേജ് ക്യാമ്പിൽ; ഹെൻറി ഷായുടെ 1850 എസ്റ്റേറ് ഭവനം എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പയനിയർ ഗ്രാമവും ഇവിടെ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഷായുടെ പൈതൃക സ്മാരകങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ ടവർ ഗ്രോവ് പാർക്കിന് തൊട്ടടുത്ത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു.<ref name="nrhp_nomination"/>
