ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ ഭൂഗർഭശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനും, പ്ലാനിറ്ററി സയൻസിന്റെ സ്ഥാപകരിലൊരാളുമായിരുന്നു '''യൂജിൻ മെർലെ ഷൂമാക്കർ'''. അദ്ദേഹം 1928 ഏപ്രിൽ 28 ന് ലോസ് ആഞ്ചലസിൽ ജനിച്ചു.
