== ആദ്യകാല ജീവിതം ==

1883 ഒക്ടോബർ 21-ന് [[ശ്രീലങ്ക]]യിലെ ബോട്ടലെ എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ മുതലിയാർ ഡി.എസ്. സേനാനായകെയുടെയും ഡോണ കാതറീന എലിസബത്തിന്റെയും പുത്രനായാണ് ഡി. എസ്. സേനാനായകെയുടെ ജനനം.<ref>''Don Stephen Senanayake, the first Prime Minister of Sri Lanka'' by H.
